Shanti Seva Griha,
Kathmandu

Normal as well as physically challenged children go to schools and kindergarten at Shanti Sewa Griha. In 1999, a school was established at Budhanilkantha to assist those who could not afford to pay for their children’s education. Shanti Primary School offers classes from nursery till the 5th grade, with additional standards added annually.Disabled Children’s Center was initiated to provide proper care for disabled children. This center is a home to many mentally challenged and polio-affected children. Relentless endeavors are being made to help special children lead a relatively normal life.

Ankuran Kindergarten,
Kathmandu

Our fully operational kindergarten provides high quality, meaningful education to children who need it most. Many of the children come from families who are impoverished, so they need only provide a small fee in order for their child to go to school. In desperate cases, the foundation provides full financial support for families who cannot afford the cost of the child’s education. Currently, there are plans to extend the reach of the kindergarten program to the Kokhana leprosy community, located 40 minutes away. By advocating early social development with those living in leprosy affected communities, it is our hope that, in time, the social barriers that stand against full acceptance of the disease will be weakened.Ankuran Kindergarten is opened with the vision of supportng the Women from the village so that they can go to work and also children from the leprsoy colony and can get chance to go to school and get better knowledge.

Maitreya
Pathshala Waldorf Inspired School,
Pokhara

We opened our door in April 2014 in Pokhara, the queen city of Nepal. The school started with a kindergarten of twelve children, one teacher and an assistant. The school was envisioned and is now sited on the Worldorganics Biodynamic Farm (started 2009) following a series of discussions centered on Steiner-Waldorf education. The organizing team were fully engaged in constructing the school buildings, together with a small seminar hall and a separate guest house for volunteers. The volunteer program was launched with the aim of helping to contribute to the running costs of the school through work in on the farm and the charging of a modest fee (Euro10 -15) for guest house accommodation and food.
